the S word....

Yes, u may have guessed correctly wad the S is for... S stands for stress... there's no other words that i can even think of now...
all i've been doing since last thursday is to mug n mug n mug...
honestly, i've been pushing myself beyond my normal standard.
usually, at least i'll have more breaks in between my studying time....
now, surprisingly, I was able to resist myself from other distractions and nicely sit down in R2 study room almost 12 hours a day, or even more sometimes... this is world record for me!!! haha...

okay, nothing to be proud about since i think most ppl here are doing that...sigh

but seriously, this exam period has driven me a bit crazy... but luckily i still can maintain a bit of sanity...(hopefully)

these are some of the quirky n bad things that has been happening from the days leading to exams till today (i still have 3 papers more to go by the way....huaaaaa!!!!!)
  • NUS is seriously lack of power point and benches... if u go to the library n any open areas n want to use your laptop, better come early to "chop" the plug...if not, u r doomed!!
  • Ppl are so deprived of studying area that they dun mind sitting down on the floor along the corridor.... i've seen some doing that in PGP...
  • U studied so hard for maths and thought that it was the most prepared module among other screwed-up modules n yet you flunked it. and the worse thing, the paper was considered doable if not easy to some.
  • after your maths paper on saturday, you had lunch with your friends and talked to them (this is still normal)... and thennnn, u found out that all the while you've been thinking that CN exam is on monday, CM exam is on thursday.... and it's all WRONG!!! CM shld be on monday, CN on thursday... yes, basically it means that u've prepared for the wrong papers... sigh.... to make things worse, there are 2 exams on monday... now, u are unprepared for 2 papers.... and you only have less than 2 days to "do your best"... hm, i wonder how that can happen...
  • Fire alarm in PGP rang twice at 4 o'clock or 5 o'clock or 4 o'clock (haiz, cant rmb....but basically around that time) in the morning before CM paper... and after that your sleep was interupted by constant fear of being overslept for CM paper at 9 am... which would mean a total waste of effort during the weekend if that really happens...(luckily not). Interestingly, in between that interupted sleep, you managed to actually get into a dream... nightmare more precisely : there's a fire opposite your house... (must be the fire alarm effect)
  • It's monday morning and you were still rushing through the last 2 chapters of your CM notes and your exam was in 1 hr time... you were just reading through without anything going into your mind. The "amazing" thing was: while you are studying CM throughout the weekend, you realised that nothing has got into your mind during lectures in term time... so, basically you were trying to learn everything from scratch... seriously, i dunno wad i've been doing before this, quite a few of my notes are like "untouched". This sem is such a waste of time...
  • the afternoon after CM paper which turns out to be a ULTRA disastrous (as expected), you still have another marketing paper to sit for... and you have 4 more chapters to go...and 4 more hours left.... so you wanna try to find some empty seats at the study room in sch and found that there's not even a single available seat to squeeze into... you had to resort to going to some benches along a dim corridor and strain your eye for some light to study... how pathetic..!!!
  • Surprisingly, you managed to finish reading through all the outstanding notes within that 4 hours and confidently went to the exam hall.... you did all the questions and finished the exam with happy feelings, not because you know you got all answers correct but because you know that nothing can be worse that CM paper in the morning....
  • But when you start talking n discussing with your friends, you found out that all the long essays that you've written are rubbish... long but non sense...haha that's the art of crapping!

"If there's a will, there's a way" -> that is one saying that i really need to adopt now!! haha

3 more papers to go...

3 papers in 2 days...how "wonderful"!

Breathe in the music...

heya everyone...
yep, at last i can feel a bit relaxed after being the library for almost the whole day....
i noe it's nothing good to brag about but i feel a sense of achievement. it's not easy to force yourself to sit down in that place fully packed with muggers.... but i've made it today!! haha...
hm.... although i must say that i didnt actually did much except for my physical chem.
i tried to start on my matlab assignment but i got stucked somewhere n i just gave up...

erh... did i just bore some of u with my schoolworks..haha... maybe i shld stop blogging abt my mugging schedules, if not this blog will just turn into another daily planner of some sort...

yes, as u have notice, there's a new section on the right side of my blog. It's from www.imeem.com for those of u who don't noe abt it....
it's like one of my favourite sites nowadays....
thx to vidi n yeanching who introduce me to this site... now i can find all the songs that i want
They even have indo songs...haha how great is that....
wheeeeee..... (yeanching's style)-- but warn u, u need fast internet to listen to the songs as one piece...duh!... thx to NUS unlimited internet access i have such a luxury now..haha

wad makes me so happy abt this site is that i can compile my own playlists and find all the songs that i've been looking for for ages... one of it is "hear 'em say" by kanye west. I remember listening to that song when i was still in vhall. Me n vidi would tune in to the radio (power 98) and when we heard that song, we would be super happy...haha... actually wad makes the song nice is the vocals by adam lavene (that maroon 5 lead singer)... oh ya, and the piano accompaniment oso. it's light, cute n so special...haha

there are also other songs like "Lost without you" and "Don't you worry bout the thing". I've been playing those 2 songs over n over again....(luckily it's not a Cassette or CD, if not it will be fully damaged by now)....
The first song "Lost without you" is by Robin Thicke... I began to know Robin Thicke during sec sch... at that time, i didnt even noe that his full name is Robin Thicke, only knew him as Thicke...haha...
but recently when i tuned in to the radio.... i was immediately hooked on by this song when the intro was played... i dunno why but the guitar accompaniment i just irresistable (couldnt find a better word to describe it)
Then the second song "DOn't you worry bout the thing" by John Legend... I remember sitting at Shaw house McCafe, mugging there with bebeth and this song was played over n over again... just love the tune n everything.... but actually the person who introduces me to this song was alice... haha i remember her telling me that it was "Hitch" soundtrack...and i love it ever since...

u noe, after compiling a playlist of my favourite songs, i can somehow make a generalisation of wad kind of song i like....
it's really not just by genre or by singer (or maybe i dunno wad genre it is called anyway).... but i can say that i like songs that are not just sang by singers with great voice but wad is important to me is really the music and the accompaniment. the kind of music that can make u feel "jumpy" or the kind of music that really soothes my mind...haha
hm... sounds so chiiiimmm.... but yeah....

wad's wrong with the weather??

hm, actually the title of this blog is a bit unimportant...(ga penting maksudnya...haha)
but it's true, the weather nowadays seems to fluctuate unpredictably.... i mean, one minute it is raining like storm, the next it has turn into bright sunny scorching day...

okay, the weather aside...
just came back from West coast park.... i havent been there for ages... the last time i went there (which was oso the first time) was when we took the junior batch (am pm) for an outing there...
it was like...ummmhhh, in 2003 or 2004....wah makes me feel so old only...haiz...
i remember climbing up all the structures there... oh i think i still have those photos somewhere in my drawer.... yes, those were the times when digi cam was still a luxury....

this time round, i went there with laura, maulana and ellys to survey the site for pinus bbq....
i kinda look forward to the bbq, not for the food but for the games n gathering. It must be exciting to play together after the exam stress and all...
west coast is a not-so-bad place to have a gathering n all that...coz they have huge field....i mean huge!!! then also got all the playgrounds for the MKKB ppl...haha maybe including myself....

but seriously, dun ever compare west coast to east coast.... east coast is definitely a much much better place to go... i mean, the atmosphere itself is so much different. East coast is more happening and most importantly. the BEACH!!... i learn to love beaches after staying at Vhall coz it's super near east coast. west coast on the other hand, i must say a bit pathetic lah....so near to the "containers" and ships....the view itself is just so so wrong...haha

but too bad, i bet if we organise the bbq at east coast nobody will bother to turn up...haha

super sianz...

hm.... not much to blog abt today...
somehow i felt super tired for the whole day.... i thought i got enuf sleep...
maybe it's just this time of the year where everything starts to pile up n exams are coming man!!! how??
one good thing: maths lecture has ended....though it's kinda entertaining to go for maths lect everytime (the lecturer is a real joker...hahaz, where can u find maths lecture abt romeo and juliet and 300?...hmmm)
but one less day to wake up early to go for morning lect...yay!!! my beauty sleep...heeeee

ooo... tmrw's my mkt presentation!! wish me luck with iPod....haha...
hope i wont forget my script halfway n stun there...

mugging season is coming and it reminds me of this "mugging anthem" founded by alice n dwee (if i'm not wrong) when we were still in Vhall...

"as we mug to the right, as we mug to the left,
as we mug as we mug as we mug all nite,
with the notes and the textbook,
and the round panda eyes,
with the notes and the textbook,
and a new friend found"

haha...actually cant remember exactly the lyrics that they made up...so i made them up myself...(the part abt notes, textbook n pada eyes...haha)

okie... that's all folks....

*just got the correction for the lyrics of mugging anthem from the original founder...hehe
"as we mug to the right,
as we mug to the left,
as we mug as we mug as we mug all nite,
with the books and the notes,
and a half turn around,
with the books and the notes,
and a new mugger found"

I'm so 'Justified'

Maybe from the title of this blog alone, u won't be able to guess wad it this blog all about...
okie lah... lets go straight to the point!!
i'm going to bore you with my JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE blabbers...
yes! I must admit that I am a big fan of Justin Timberlake... not for his looks but for his talent!!!
yes! and as u can see, my nick name is actually inspired by one of his song, senorita, and hence my nick cynorita...haha i noe it's a bit lame, but i like it the way it is...

I started listening to his music around sec 4 and his CD was one of the few original CDs that I bought (Yes, I do support my fave artists by buying the originals muahaha...)
His song senorita, just makes me wanna groove to it, makes my feet wanna tap to the beat... basically, it's one of the best songs that i've ever heard. Even until this point of time, I'm still madly in love with the song. I just think that it's super duper fun, creative and of course upbeat....

You guys shld watch this show by Justin during the 2004 grammy awards where he sang senorita... i think this is the best arrangement of the song that i've ever heard.... it's simply 'WOW!'

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5d-avqgYhMw
Don't u just love his showmanship....?

I learn to like almost all of his songs in his first solo album "justified". I've heard of the songs inside over n over again until i can remember which songs come next...

Then he came out with his new album FutureSex/LoveSounds... I was not very impressed at first... I thought his transformation was not really to my taste... His first hits "Sexy back" was just not so right for me....

but when i heard "What goes around", I immediately think, "the Justin i like is back!"
yes! indeed, i've been hooked by the song and I listen to it almost every day.... haha
I just love the content of the lyrics...
so I'll just put the music video here... just to warn u, it's abt 9 mins long coz it's like a short movie, starring Scarlet Johansson...erh, do i spell her name correctly??
okay, enuf said.... just see for yourself!...

Hey Girl
Is he everything you wanted in a man?
You know I gave you the world
You had me in the palm of your hand
So why your love went away
I just can't seem to understand
Thought it was me and you, baby
Me and you until the end
But I guess I was wrong

Don't wanna think about it
Don't wanna talk about it
I'm just so sick about it
I can't believe it's ending this way
Just so confused about it
Feeling the blues about it
I just can't do without ya
Tell me is this fair

Is the way it's really going down?
Is this how we say goodbye?
Shoulda known better when you came around
That you were gonna make me cry
It's breaking my heart to watch you run around
Cause I know that you're living a lie
But that's ok baby, cause in time you will find

What goes around, goes around, goes around, comes all the way, back around
What goes around, goes around, goes around, comes all the way, back around
What goes around, goes around, goes around, comes all the way, back around
What goes around, goes around, goes around, comes all the way, back around
Yeah

Now Girl
I remember everything that you claimed
You said that you were moving on now (on now)
Maybe I should do the same
(Maybe I should do the same)
The funny thing about that is
I was ready to give you my name

Thought it was me and you baby (baby)
And now, it's all just a shame
That I guess I was wrong

Don't wanna think about it
Don't wanna talk about it
I'm just so sick about it
I can't believe it's ending this way
Just so confused about it
Feeling the blues about it
I just can't do without ya
Can you tell me is this fair?

Is the way it's really going down?
Is this how we say goodbye?
Shoulda known better when you came around
That you were gonna make me cry
Now it's breaking my heart to watch you run around
Cause I know that you're living a lie
But that's ok, baby, cause in time you will find

What goes around, goes around, goes around, comes all the way, back around
What goes around, goes around, goes around, comes all the way, back around
What goes around, goes around, goes around, comes all the way, back around
What goes around, goes around, goes around, comes all the way, back around
Yeah
What goes around comes around
Yeahhh
What goes around comes around
You should know that
What goes around comes around
Yeahhh
What goes around comes around
You should know that

Don't wanna think about it
Don't wanna talk about it
I'm just so sick about it
I can't believe it's ending this way
Just so confused about it
Feeling the blues about it
I just can't do without ya
Tell me is this fate

Is the way it's really going down?
Is this how we say goodbye?
Shoulda known better when you came around
That you were gonna make me cry
It's breaking my heart to watch you run around
Cause I know that you're living a lie
But that's ok, baby, cause in time you will find

What goes around, goes around, goes around, comes all the way, back around
(What goes around comes around, baby)
What goes around, goes around, goes around, comes all the way, back around
(What goes around comes around, baby)
What goes around, goes around, goes around, comes all the way, back around
What goes around, goes around, goes around, comes all the way, back around
Yeah

[...Comes Around (Interlude)]
Yup
Yup
Yup(let me paint this picture for ya, baby)
Yup
You spend your nights alone
And he never comes home
And everytime you call him, all you get's a busy tone
I heard you found out
That he's doing to you
What you did to me
Ain't that the way it goes
When you cheated, girl
My heart bleeded, girl
So it goes without saying that ya left me feeling hurt
Just a classic case scenario
Tale as old as time
Girl, you got what you deserved
And now you want somebody
To cure the lonely nights
You wish you had somebody
That could come and make it right
But girl, I ain't somebody
I'm out of sympathy
See..

ps: sorry if the post becomes terribly long because of the lyrics...
JT rocks!!

Weekend post!

Nowadays, I only have time to update my post during weekends coz i'm superduper busy during weekdays.... especially this week when everything is going to be due soon....
Even tonite, I'm trying to steal a bit of time from my supposedly lab report time.
yes, weekend is kinda sucky nowadays with all the report coming....(as u can see from my previous posts as well)....butttttt.... good news is: this is going to be my last chem lab report for this semester.... fiuhhhh.....

4 labs a semester is bad enough. can't imagine the next next semesters when i have more than one labs and of course more lab reports to do.... I heard from the others, who heard it from seniors, the upcoming lab reports are going to be 80 pages long!! wad deeee..... hahaha (*sad laughter).... poor my printer ink, and poor ME!!... seriously, how r we supposed to write 80 pages long?.... isn't this somewhat similar to writing a textbook aledy...? wow! maybe that's life for a chem engin to be... not very promising...hehe

Apart from my "mundane" lab reports, this coming tuesday I'm going to have a presentation of my marketing project on iPod... I must say that Marketing is one of the modules that i really enjoy now....(partly because i begin to feel sick of Engin modules... haiz, no good). Marketing feels kind of refreshing to me... no need to memorise formulas, just need to use common sense and think critically...

My project on iPod is kind of cool i must say... Previously, i was not really attracted to iPod. Doesnt mean that I dun wanna have one, it's just that i feel that for me it's not a necessary thing. (although some of my friends have one) --> maybe it's called "resistant" to iPod's campaign...haha

but after i've done so much research on this topic and gone to it's website "thousands" of times this months.... i begin to show some interest in the product... even after analysing their advertisement campaigns and all that, and realise that they have quite a few weaknesses, i still think that iPod carries a certain "prestige"... compared to other brands of course. Maybe it's partly because i never really do any research on any other brands.

However, from wadever net-surfing that i've done, I realise that all other brands improve on their products just for the sake of winning the race against iPod, not really because they really wanna serve the consumers better.

Apart from that, it also helps that my project group mates are quite fun! maybe not all lah, but at least i can mix well with most of them. widen my social circle outside the world of engin....

Haha wish me luck for the presentation on Tuesday....hope it will go well....yay! iPod, i want one!!*hint*hint*.. ;p

another NUS arts fest event

One of the thing that i come to learn since i come to s'pore is that i love watching arts and performances. Actually not just watching but also performing. (Budden since i came to NUS i have less chance of performance unlike when i was in Sec and JC). Of course, compared to when i was in indo, I have more chances of watching concerts and shows for a lot of reasons. (though sometimes i think that indo ppl have a lot more talents that can be showcased)

And of course, NUS, one of the "factories" that "produces" singaporeans, has a whole host of shows for us to watch. some free n some not free. It's called NUS arts festival.

As i've penned down in my blog, 2 weeks ago there was NUS choir performance (see how time flies...) and now it's the time for the acapella and choir groups from various hall to showcase their talents. The former being the "not-free" example and the latter being the "free" one as mentioned above.

I must be frank and say that the overall performance was not fantastic. The few performances that i liked were Sheares n KR choirs n acapellas. The rest were just so-so.... but of course the guest performers were also included in the "fantastic" list...

One of the guest performers were Regu A (the Indo band). I think we all (the indonesians who went were really proud of that group). I must complement them because i think for a grp to spring out not because of any cca reason, not because of hall obligation, is a rare thing. Summore, i dare to say that their standard are better than a lot of other performances tonite... haha from wad i observedjust now, got more ppl who became the fans of Adi and Andrew.. coz just now i overheard ppl's conversation saying that they want to get to know Adi n Andrew...haha quite funny!

enuf for the compliment...haha

took quite a lot of pics tonite...i think i'll just show some of my fave pics....(time to make use of my bulky camera...yet still takes nicer photographs =))... mostly, the ppl in the pics are about the same as the people who were in the choir pics 2 weeks ago (wad a music enthusiast!...haha)

Me n yc: wish i have taken the pic of her in the apron haha ice kachang was cute.... Btw, thx for taking the pics!!

The indo gals: just realised that all of us are in black n white...nice color combi!!

I really love this pic!!...everybody looks good there
One person to comment: Adela, who is actually an NTU student has faithfully come to some of NUS concerts...something to worth mentioning since she bothers to take time down from the "ulu" NTU to NUS...haha... (sorry NTU ppl....no offence, it's just that NTU is really far...lol)
Oh ya, something that irritates me a bit tonite is the ppl who are in charge at the performance theatre... I think i get too strict that they become quite irritating (okay, u may say that i shld put myself in their shoes, "they are just doing their duties...")
First was when anggi was helping me n yc to take pics in the theatre itself during the interval....then the person say "pls keep ur camera away"....but i thought it was an interval, wont affect any of the shows wad?? okay, fine, i kept my camera n follow wad she said.
Then i think this "usher" has super sharp eyes that keeps scanning around the room for the "unlawful" practices... then again, she managed to find 2 packets of drinks under our seats...and ask us to remove it...okay, fair enuf...we are not supposed to consume anything inside i noe...
Then wad irritates me the most was after the interval was over n when the performance was going on....this "usher" keeps reminding ppl around not to use their cameras even though they are not even using any flash....no disturbance to the performers i supposed.... and yet, this "usher" became the one who was the main disturbance to us since we were sitting at the side...urghhhhh.... pls lah, lemme enjoy the show!.
I just feel that when ppl get too strict n follow the rule excessively, it defeats the purpose of having a rule....rule is supposed to serve ppl well.... haiz.... but i guess i was once a person like that....just follow rule...(haha sounds like a recent fann wong n gourmit singh movie)
okie, lets not spoil my mood by pondering over unneccessary stuff like that....
Looking forward for more concerts to come...
But i seriously think that i wont have much time for that anymore...
But i see no point prisoning myself n studying (which i can't actualise anyway...).
Okay, maybe i shld rephrase....no point hiding under ur books all the time...I need a break too sometime.

Run away...

This is Friday nite and i am sitting here in the reading room of pgp, planning to do my work.
But so far i have not done anything productive yet. trying to run away from reality...haiz...
hope i can make some progress by tonite so i wont have to stress myself out during weekdays...
and yes, uni life sucks... it's like a cycle repeating every week.

During weekends when i'll be rushing through my work, i'll be like cursing n promising not to let that happen again. But somehow when weekdays come, i seem to forget all the hardship that i had during weekends.... n somehow i manage to find excuses to run away from work...
haiz, i think i really lack the motivation to study...how??

btw, my brother is coming to singapore on monday!!! yippiiieee!!! which also means food food food from indo.......got a reason to go out to meet him...haha kinda excited to see him. I'm sure he's very excited too, coz it's his first time going abroad with his friends. But dunno whether how often i can meet him considering that i have so many others things going on.... but, i am sure i'll make time for him...haha

okie...
*time to run back to reality*

relieved

I just wanna take this time to express my relief that I've just completed my Matlab assignment....fiuhhhhhh

Yes, I really dread Matlab assignment each week as I will spend hours or even days in front of may laptop, not knowing wad to do until the very last minute when i have to submit...

Even worse, last week, the Matlab assignment came together with Chemisrty lab report...
I was almost "killed" by them both. I spent the whole afternoon and nite doing the Chem lab report until 3 am in the morning....which leaves me with no time to complete my Matlab assignment. As a result, I have to steal time in between my lesson to complete my Matlab. and to my horror, I could not understand the thing that i was supposed to do... So, last minute, I depended on Yeanching's favour for those questions where I was totally lost...

But this week it's different! I finish it all by myself without asking anybody (but of course i refer to notes n textbook). I am so proud of myself.... dun care about the mark i will get for the assignment... I just feel the sense of achievement of completing something...haha

Matlab aside,
I have been reading ppl's blog lately. then i realised something...
"is my blog too self-centered?"
Not that I want to follow other ppl, but all that I've been writing here is just about me, myself, and I... mostly revolve around my daily activities.... which is of not much meaning...and of course it gets very uninteresting....
So, I have decided to at least include in some insightful thoughts or comments in my blog next time
This is my resolution in blogging...hahaz hopefully it can be achieved.

and life goes on....

yep...as usual, i only come back blogging when i feel that i have a lot of things to tell...
yesh! and now i do have a lot of things to share....so many things have been happening last week...
it started with the "much-awaited" mid term exam... why much-awaited, u may ask.... coz i just wanna end it as soon as possible.... haha I really dun feel like recalling the tests experience coz i knew i srcewed up almost all... usually if the 1st test is aledy very bad, i will lose the motivation to fight on for the subsequent papers.... that's how i am, not like other ppl, cannot do then study harder...haha

my last day of exam was saturday!!! i felt so relieved...though it was temporary n deceiving.... when u finish test, doesnt mean u are free.... it just means u finish the test, that's all!!! still have so many tutorials, lab report, research to do.... haiz, and now i'm feeling the effect aledy...
feeling super tired today...i really need a boost of energy now.... but i'll fight on!! someone, give me some motivation!!

okay, before i continue whinning, i shall move on to happier things...

last week was linda's 21st birthday!! haha we had a celebration at pgp foyer....wanted to dunk her, but we were not that mean... (now i think, dunking is kinda scary sia... coz u might actually injured the person in the process).... the celebration went well and we had cakes n some martabak n pisang molen from ppl who came back from indo....

then yesterday was choir concert.... there were quite a few of indos singing in the choir. i met a lot of ppl there too!! This is the first concert ever that i've watched in NUS.... the indo concert was not counted coz i was performing n couldnt really enjoy the show....

it was good.... when i was in vj, i never went for any choir concert...(which is kinda pathetic since VJ choir was supposed to be very good).... but it's okay, NUS choir oso conducted by Nelson Kwei.... so shld be quite similar lah hor!! haha....
1. photo with eva...she was the first to come out of the backstage....

2. after very long only laura n evelyn came out n see us...haha

3. met bebeth n some red cross ppl oso...so take pic lor!!! haha

oh ya, one more thing to announce.... I just had my hair cut.... i had it at wisma atria.... the place is called shunji matsuo - icon.... i thing it was not bad....i love the way the person style my hair after the cut....the cut was not extraordinary but i feel that it's much neater than before, which is good...haha... for the price....ehem.... okay lah, i think it's quite reasonable....i dun mind paying more for a good hair cut rather than pay cheap2 and come out like sh*t..haha (that's how i usually feel when i came out of salon)
okie...all in all....i had a balanced week!! haha

6 weird facts....

tagged by alice...
this looks fun and seems like i must work my brain a bit for this....
hm...okay lemme start...
1. i hated vegetables but i started eating only after i came singapore...reason...? malu sama temen2....

2. i like to mix n match my own clothes, including the accessories... (yes, ini my sign of bimboticity...erh, is there such word??) but only when i'm alone in my room.... and i get excited if i manage to pull together a great look (though sometimes i may not dare to show what i've put together when i walked out of the room)

3. my palm n feet are constantly sweating excessively which makes me quite uncomfortable when i have to shake ppl's hands or when i have to dance.... anybody got any idea how to cure this??

4. i have too fast reaction that when i saw lightning striking, i can't stop myself from covering my ears (actually it's more like i'm scared lah...).

5. i hate talking on the phone coz i i cant hear the person on the other side clearly...so i get nervous n dunno how to reply....especially if the person talks in hokkien (such as my parents' frenz who called). i prefer talking face to face or chat online...
another thing is...most of the time i think through wad i wanna say before i actually says it... especially if i have to speak english...

6. my face is assymetrical... thanks to my mom who observed me so much.... (actually i didnt notice it until my mom told me so)

can i add one more?haiya, can lah!
7. if i listen to music, most of the time i will listen up for the interesting sound effects or accompaniments or the harmonisation when most ppl will just listen to the lyrics... (i dunno whether this is weird or not)

(it's indeed hard to come out with weird stuff abt yourself...haha...so try it!!)

Yeanching yeancing yeanching....

Yeanching!! shocked to see so many of your names on my blog!?!?!?

haha....

sorry this comes a bit late but wanna wish u happy belated 20th bdae!!! your deadline is up girl!!!
haha
i only got time to "touch" my blog again after so long....n of course i have to write for u lah....
yeanching is one of my very supportive friends in my life in NUS

since we are both in chem engin, we see each other so often that there's no day without her face haha....jokin2

anyway, i feel that i owe yeanching so much...not owe things or money...but there are a lot of things that can only be felt.... her care, her talk, her presence, her support....everything lah.... even some things that i often take for granted coz i see her that often...

but i really miss the time when we shared the same roof in vhall..then had more fun together...
i feel that now we have a lot of uncommon experiences that make us feel far at times... (she's always busy with her hall stuff, i'm always "busy" with my pgp friends).... yah, basically, we spent less time together outside sch now...
but still, i really feel very comfortable sharing things with her.... as if we're always on the same frequency...

oh ya, wanna apologise for ruining our date "supposedly only both of u".... but i ended up chioing more ppl along...haha... but the more the merrier rite??

oh ya, back to the highlight of the day!! yeanching!! haha
just wanna say thanks for everthing....since jc till now...
dun be too stressed up with your hall matters... i noe sometimes it gets tough but i noe u are tougher....unbreakable!! jiayou!!!

okie...hope u had a great bdae....pls come back soon n mug with me...hiks...my study plan is so screwed....haha...
oh ya, i hope u like the bag!! must use it hor!!
ps: thanks for the sunflower...

The chinese new year edition

I'm writing this while watching the last 30 mins of American Idol...Have been missing the previous episode....
chinese new year has come n go n only now then i got the time to blog it...
as a matter of fact, this blog is abandoned.... i am not so passionate about writing anymore...at least not like last time during the holiday where i got all the time in the world to waste (not that i'm no longer wasting my time now.... Mid term exam is coming n yet i youtube all nite...)

oh ya, before i get to my chinese new year experience, just wanna promote this really nice series... of course it's taiwanese series...wad else do i watch...
it's called hana kimi...i think it's adapted from japanese comic....
basically, it's abt this girl who likes this high jumper (is that the right term for it?) studying in boy sch.... so she is willing to sacrifice n pretend to be a guy just to study in the same sch as her idol... I think it's really a nice show...funny n refreshing to watch...

ok...promotion time over...
now it's sharing time...
anyway,... i didnt go back indo during CNY.... for a simple reason. mid term exams coming....but as predicted, I never really utilise my time wisely.... uncountable hours were wasted loitering ard orchard and vivocity (maybe a new term shld be used -->"Vivoing").... and countless dollars spend .... haiz...

basically, during CNY eve, all the chinese restaurants were either closed or fully booked.... so we had to resort to Western food... German food to be exact....
We had Danny with us...who helped us a lot in ordering..haha... coz the name of the dishes are all in german....
basically only 6 of us spent the CNY eve together (me, jess, laura, danny, dipta n henry)....the rest, either they went back indo, hide somewhere in PGP or "busy" couples...haha....

thanks to Jessica, we got a treat of fondue that nite at Hagen daz....nyum...
okay, that was the first nite in Vivo...

after our feast, we came back pgp to play board games (monopoly) the whole nite....until morning at 4 if i'm not wrong...

then next day, i woke up quite late....just the time for lunch...so me n jess (who felt so lonely n bored) decided to go orchard to try our luck....
but our luck was not that good....all the non-western food restaurants were closed including jap food...hiks hiks... and we ended up eating at spageddies... okay, i must say that the food was not that bad.... but it's tooo cheesy...
n after that we had a walk around orchard which looked like a dead city....seriously, singapore cant function during chinese new year...that's the bad thing abt being in a chinese dominated country...haha....

and for dinner we had marche.. (ya ya...another western meal....quite sick of it aledy)...
but thanks to david n angita -the happy couple- who helped us book the table....if not... dun even think abt having dinner there... it was fun that nite after the dinner.... why? becoz we went to the vivocity "kids" playground... yah, it was as if we were never young....haha ....

then we ended the nite n started the next day with Risk game.... it's a guy kind of game which i learned.... the guys had mercy on us the girls (me n laura), not killing us early and we ended up being the "troublemaker" in the game...haha... n guess wad, we ended the game at 5 pm...
but i didnt sleep straight after that... i pushed myself to finish my overdue assignment and ended sleeping at 7 am....damn early rite...? that was my record...

actually the rest of my new year was quite eventful except for continuous eating of expensive food which burned a whole in my pocket....haiz...haha
i hope i can get all the pictures soon n can put it up here....yipppiiee...
gong xi gong xi.... i want my hong bao!!!

cravings...

The past weekend was one of the bussiest n the most tiring weekend this sem. I had the first 2 sessions of my 1st aid course....learned abt CPR, how to bandage in the head, at the arm....and all sorts of procedures. CPR is not that hard, it's just that we have to follow certain procedures to pass the test... I cant imagine doing it on a real person....ih so scary...haha....

then during the weekends, i'm supposed to have my dance class which i pon due to the first aid course. A bit sad lah, coz i have to miss my inter chacha again....haiz waste my money.... and there was supposed to be mini dance competition like last time and obviously i cant go....
but nvm, it was aledy the last class n we r going to start new dances next time...yippiieee....samba n waltz

oh ya, talking abt dance, in pgp, there was open air movie screening..."layar tancep"....it was quite fun!! i watched "shall we dance". I think after learning how to do ballroom dance, i can appreciate these kinds of movies better. then i oso saw some of the moves that i learned before in the movies... cool!!.... actually the movie plot is not that interesting. but it was romantic n of course Jlo dance very well.....hm... inspiring...haha

now, lets talk abt craving...haha just like the title of my post (after so long story above...haha)
why i want to write abt this??
ans= i dunno... (MATLAB format)
just suddenly feel that i have a lot of cravings from day to day.
out of nowhere, i can form this thought of wanting to eat something. (of course craving is not just abt food...but for me, most of the time it's food lah, i have to admit...haha)
just to share... the food that i craved before: Pempek palembang, Ayam Penyet, Science canteen Banmian, VJ canteen carrot cake, Dimsum and currently i got craving for chocolate....which is kinda appropriate since it's near v-day hahaha
but v-day is so irrelevant to me.... so if nobody gives chocs to me, can just buy loh...haha (sounds so pathetic ya?) but nevermind... being "jomblo" is NOT the saddest thing in the world...haha

enuf of the crap lah...i wanna watch my youtube now. oh ya, somebody told me abt this website oso... crunchyroll.com i think it will be heaven for ppl who have broadband internet n is an anime freak...so check it out. only if u got the time.... and just to warn u, i'm not responsible for the side effect (addiction to stay in front of your comp all day long)...haha... (from my own experience, youtube is the reason for all my incomplete tutorials....hahah)

concert aftermath...

yay!!
Today is Friday and this is the first time that i can relax a bit throughout this week....
Last friday was the concert by the Indons here in NUS...it's called "When I was in Indonesia..."
The concert was a fusion of both traditional and modern music n dance....

The items performed are as follows:
- Balinese dance called Sekar Jagad... I saw the ppl practising for this one...I looks quite tough and they managed to dance well in such a short time. defenitely not easy....

-Gamelan... This item was performed by the guest performers from SMU.... I didnt really noe abt this item. coz the SMU ppl only went once for the rehearsal.... and on the day itself I was outside the backstage....so, I didnt hear them at all. Summore, I was not familiar with the songs they played...haha....so, no impression...sorrie

-ehem....ANGKLUNG orchestra.... which was the item that me and abt 27 other ppl performed.haha... we played 3 songs: Kopi Dangdut, Edelweiss and Naik Delman.
We screwed up a bit at the Kopi Dangdut, but I noe for sure, the Naik Delman n Edelweiss on that day was the best compared to all the practices we had before... good job ppl....I tremendously enjoyed the performance.
but I really want to see the video of our performance. Hope I can get hold of one copy of the video.....

-ReguA.... I think this band deserves a compliment...they sounded good, they looked good and they were entertaining.... at least this is what I saw during the rehearsals...I guess the performance on the day itself shld be superb oso... the ppl in this band are: Adi, Regi, Tari, Andrew, and the additional 2 members are Adit n Aldo... I was really impressed by the music n harmonisation...great job!!

-Tari piring... this is performed by NTU guest performers, 4 of them only. But they were oso impressive. imagine all the "throwing plates" stunts...haha I heard that one of them almost dropped the plates...luckily he managed to catch it back firmly...haha....

-IndoMe.... not very sure how to write the proper name...but it sounds something like that....
They are a grp of 4 ppl playing rock band...haha ....but of course singing indo songs... They were really good oso coz they could engage with the crowd...haha... and it was nice to listen Indo love songs....haha romantic...

oh ya, must highlight the MCs for the day. Dunno where they found an ang moh girl who were willing to be the MC...she pretended to be a tourist going around Indo....
and Dipta n Jaenatte who were the "welcomer" in each of the places.... what so funny is when Dipta appeared in front of everyone wearing the traditional costumes, ppl started laughing without him doing anything or saying anything...haha

okay basically it was a great nite, with great music n of course great audience....At first I was quite worried that the audience would not make up the whole theaterette...but not bad...it was at least 5/6 full...though i dunno how i got that...haha...crap...

This is the link to the official pictures....
http://www.flickr.com/photos/40451870@N00/sets/72157594512628516/
but so sad dun have my face....hiks hiks...
will try to get from individual cameras which have my face haha
if i got all the pictures aledy, i'll try to put it up here...
i think we shld organise more of this kind of things...though it took up quite a bit of our time during the last minute practice n rehearsals, but i feel satisfied lah!! and i felt good when u see ppl come n supporting u...haha....

okie....must go do my stuff liao....

Remember the Angklung time....

yesterday was quite a hectic day for me.
After lunch, I rushed off to my dance class. I danced from 1.30 to 5.30
dance until I cant really feel my feet, especially after i tighten up the strap...
actually that is oso because there was shortage of girls.
so the gals present must dance n dance n dance to help the guy lah of course....

but dance is fun when u can follow. that's the case for my rhumba n foxtrot...
not so fun when u have to smoke through coz u r unsure abt the steps... that's the case for my inter chacha which I regret taking it slightly....
all blame it to my dec hols at home...but of course i never regret going home lah....(who is so stupid to prefer spending holiday alone in s'pore to spending lazy holiday at home..haha)

oh ya, continuing the story....
after dance at 5.30....i rushed again to PS to have my dinner before angklung...
see how busy i was hahaha, notice i used the word "rushed"...haha

i was all alone at that time coz the rest of the angklungers left from pgp by cab....
and I was suffering on the super long bus ride.....under the rain...
and i had to stop in such a dingy busstop near the embassy....now that was really called stranded alone...haha
but luckily i could find a cab to the embassy. (fyi, the road from the busstop to the embassy is equally dingy and the only means of transport in is your pair of feet or cab). Oh ya, it was raining summore. so the task of finding an available cab was almost impossible....most of them were hired.... or pretend to be hired... so that ppl will make calls and they will earn extra $3 ... cunning huh!!!

basically at last, i managed to get to the embassy safely n drily (maksudnya dalam keadaan kering)....
but i troubled laura n eva who went over to the busstop, unable to find me coz i left by cab aledy.... paiseh paiseh....sorry sorry.... ( a bit of misunderstanding...laura thought that i was alone n couldn't find cab... so being such a nice person she is...she went to fetch me.... --> the 'she' here refers to both laura n eva....haha)
sorry lah, wasted your effort...but your good intention had been noted...thx once again...

okay...but my complaining will just end here...
coz i enjoyed the angklung practice following that...
it was fun holding the angklung again...just like it was 4 years ago..haha...
wah, sounds so long time ago....
I can still remember ka' faridah (is this how to spell her name??) flipping the white board to show us the music score....wakakaka...
that was the stressful syf period....
but angklung is easy n fun to play. and it can involve many ppl...which adds on to the fun, of course...haha
but honestly speaking, the instructur that we have now didnt look as pro as ka' Faridah.... maybe shld not say not pro lah... wad I really mean is, he's not very prepared for his job. He never even prepared scores for us to play...
it maybe a good thing coz it can train us to remember the scores and not having to stare at our paper scores on stage...
but i pity those who played the bass... they have to constantly look at the conductor's finger...literally.
coz as he's conducting, his finger is showing the chords...haha
eg: 1 for C Chords, 5 for G chords
imagine, when he wants to show D chord...haha
and imagine doing that on the performance day...haha (oops...no offence to the current instructure...just in case he sees this...wakaka.... u are good too! haha)

currently the songs we are playing are "Naik Delman" and "Adelweis"...
fun pieces, especially the "Naik Delman", coz got the "tuk tik tak tik tuk" part...haha

okay lah....will update more next time.
oh ya, for those who are free...
my angklung performance is on 31st Jan (wed) nite...
not really sure abt the time though....
yup yup....come come....

bad schedule = bad mood....

sigh... This sem doesnt seem to be going well. Tutorial registration round just ended n i didnt get most of the slots that i wanted. As a result, I have to bear with my pathetic timetable. No more free days unless I have no labs on wed...but apart from that, i will have lessons from 8 o'clock in the morning until quite late in the afternoon (usually till 4, 5 or 6...). no good. this means i will have less time to rest in the afternoon and thus, i will slack at nite. I kind of able to foresee wad is going to happen. If i slack at nite, I wont be able to finish my work usually....sigh.... why is it so troublesome here in NUS?? why cant they just provide more slots for the time that most ppl wanted. why do we have to bid? why do we have to ballot? "exercise our responsibility n decision making??" sounds nice but not effective at all. it seems that they never consider that there are certain time slots that more ppl wants. why not just give more? why.....
since I'm stuck with this weird tutorial timing, I have no friends in my marketing tutorial class...haiz....got project summore....how am i gonna survive this. Just hope i'll get good ppl in my class.
now wad i can do is just complain n hope the NUS ppl will pity me n consider my appeal. If not, I just gotta deal with my time management.... i feel like i'm stressed unneccessarily with these trivial matters...huh!! need to learn how to cool down.....
And wad's wrong with MSN these days?? cant even log in now....sigh...
just wanna whine n complain. I'm hating sch now!!!!

ps: though computer seemed to be so smart and helpful, i just realised that it is stupid and creates a lot of unnecessary trouble.....arghhh!!!

new year new skin

as u all can see...i have new blog skin now...yay!
I took me quite long to modify the whole thing and the result is not as fantastic as i want it to be....but i really dunno how to modify it further...everything seems to be so squeezed, especially the tagboard...but no choice... with my limited html skill, this is the most i can do...

2 days ago, which is a saturday, all the indos here had a bbq in pgp. paid 5 bucks each. i thought we were supposed to be on budget and yet the things that the guys bought were chicken, stingray (a looot), beef, otah... no sausage, no fishball...haha...yah, but it was nice.
but chicken took super long to cook (bbq)...in the end some of the girls just take them back to the pantry and put them in the oven....haha....
the rest of the nite we just played cards and polar bear...haha as usual....
too bad i dun have any pictures from the bbq...too lazy to bring my camera that day...

today is monday and it is the 2nd week of sch aledy. I am relaxed but at the same time stressed...
all the lectures rush like trains...i havent even got time to look thru the previous one and a new lecture aledy begin...sigh....express train really...
oh ya, so many textbooks to buy oso....4 textbooks needed this sem. and i feel so dumb not to buy 2nd hand textbook for my CN1111....aduh...so expensive!
btw, this sem, I'm taking 6 modules, hope can survive. not just survive, hope i can do well of course....haha oh ya, this reminds me wad dipta said during IT lect. He said someone got CAP 5.0 and he got extra $2000 bucks from sembcorp....so good!!!...hahah (sounds so materialistic)...haiya, dream on....CAP 5.0 a bit impossible. can get above 4.5 will be a very very good improvement aledy...haha

okie lah...need to catch up on a lot of things now....
more update next time

here I am...

hello hello hello...
wow...it's been such a long time...I've been to lazy to update my blog throughout the holiday even when it still had good internet connection...
I shall sum up all the things that were happenning during this short holiday....(i will never ever complain that holiday is too long)
after coming back from KL (refer to my previous blog that is super long-winded), I've been in singapore for another week for my dance class...
then i fly back to jakarta after a few days, I fly to padang....see i fly a lot..haha
it was a great holiday there, nice beach!! feeding monkeys...it's quite a back to nature kinda trip... all the pics that i took there are in the comp at home...so cant show off here...next time maybe...
then come back jakarta again and basically there's nothing significant apart from slacking n going out with alice n dwee...oh ya, we oso met up with hokito, phya, stephan, gary...it was a nice reunion, after everybody separated, reminiscing the old times when we were in vj...
new year was as boring as ever, coz in jkt i cant go anywhere...unless u wanna get trapped in the midst of traffic jam doing nothing...so i decided on a wiser choice, slacking in front of my tv watching taiwan channel till countdown...haiz...wad a pathetic new year...
then yesterday i took flight back from jkt to sg, taking lufthansa....the flight was honestly the scariest flight that i've ever taken...it's not the plane's fault, but i guess the whether was just very very bad....we all can really feel the plane dropping down a lot on certain point of times.... it's very scary especially after the incident of adam air going missing, so everybody have some kind of anxiety (quated from adela)... but glad that it was all over and i'm back safely in singapore...
yep, and now i'm back in nus, with all the upcoming commitments that i dunno how to handle...lectures starting, everything is starting, i'm just unprepared for all this. still want the good relaxing time at home when wad i need to worry is basically nothing...haha...
wish me luck for this upcoming sem...hope it will be better than the one that has just passed...which is greatly unlikely...haha...
oopsss shldnt sound too pessimistic
