My green finger

Actually, I’m really not the type of person who likes gardening at all. Maybe, it’s more accurate to say, I love to see the outcome, but never really enjoy the process. I dun like getting dirty with all the soil n fertilizers (and wadever else they use to make that flower bloom). But yesterday, I begin to feel interested in this, so unique n cute way of planting stuff….in a can…like your sardines n tuna. I’ve actually saw this a few times in some stores in sg or saw them on tv (still intact in the can), but never really see one growing. Yesterday, after my fav DimSum meal at Taipan… we went to this agrobusiness exhibition. If u dunno wad it is, we can put it simply as “plant’s” exhibition. Then, we came across this stall which sells the can plants from Korea and they actually have sample of plants that aledy growing out of that small can. And I must say that taking care of that can plant is not that difficult at all coz u only need to water it every day coz inside that little can, there’s aledy enuf nutrients for the seed to germinate n grow into a young seedlings or even to flower (bio knowledge is useful here (=). And guess wad, wad I like the most abt this can plant is that, it will flower in only 1-2 months, a relatively short time compared to the normal plant that u chuck in the soil.
Oh ya, u can choose from many types of plants like sunflowers, marigold, paprika, cherry tomato, mimosa (putri malu) and the most special one is the one that has printed message appearing when it grows out (such as “I love U”). U ask me how…according to my cousin’s explanation, that seed has been marked or carved with the words on the cotyledons before they are buried inside the can n all the nutrients. Then, referring back to my bio knowledge, there is such thing as hypercotyl (is this correct? Help me my bio fellows…this is the result of not touching any text book for 6 months)… basically wad I wanna say is that the cotyledons grow out of the soil and above the ground as a result of the growth of radicle (the root). And so, after a few weeks u can see that message. Budden, after that cotyledons drop, u got just a normal green plant without anything interesting to see.
Obviously I didn’t buy the magic “I love U” bean. Wad I bought was the cherry tomato n marigold flower. Yoohoo…so excited! Can’t wait to see those bloom n make fruits before I leave for sg…which is in ard 1 month time…hiks…time really flies.
On a totally different subject, now I’m again in deep dilemma coz my dad ask me to consider Sembcop sc’s again coz my uncle convinced him that it’s no harm taking it and just pay up if later I dun wanna work for 6 yrs to serve the bond. Yes, I agree that their offer was very attractive (except the 6 yrs bond) coz I’ very used to not thinking abt financial matter throughout my 4 yrs stay in sg becoz of the allowance plus top up from mom n dad. Budden, I’m still thinking, will I be “marked” as irresponsible or anything on the negative side when I decide not to work instead n just pay?…haiz…budden, actually I dun mind taking or not taking sc’s. For me, it’s really my parents’ decision of wanting to save money or spend it on me, remembering that I still got one younger brother….bleh…
